I’ve complained a lot recently about annoying and/or weird kid’s products, but here’s one that actually sounds really cool, especially if you have a baby and/or an obsession with technology.
We already know the iphone is so awesome it’s replacing our phone, camera, GPS, and can entertain toddlers so well their first word may be “iphone” , but here’s something else your iphone will be able to do soon… monitor your baby!!
The Smart Baby Monitor
According to the press release posted at ipadmodo.com, “The Smart Baby Monitor features a high-resolution 3MP camera, extra wide view lens and night vision with infrared LEDs. The Smart baby Monitor can detect any event in the room without being moved. The smart sensor gives parents access to a multitude of information, including audio/video (day & night vision) and ambient parameters (temperature & humidity) remotely from anywhere in the world.”
This means, in addition to watching your baby, you can actually interact through any connected screen (iPhone, iPad, Smartphone, PC, Mac, tablet, eBook reader, LCDTV, etc.) and know things like the room temp. This has certainly upped the baby monitor anty.
Unfortunately, this is only a teaser post because this nifty gadget won’t be available until March and the important details, namely the price, haven’t been released. Maybe in the meantime they’ll invent an app that can change diapers too! Stay tuned…

Did you know that if you have two devices (at least one with a camera) there is already an app where one transmits to the other as a baby monitor. So for instance I have an I touch with a camera and an iPad, so if I set up my touch in my daughters room and turn on the app on both devices I can see her just like my monitor.
Thanks so much for sharing — what is the name of the app? Both my kids have itouches and my husband and I have iphones, so I want to try this!!
